Sometimes an adult needs the assistance of another person to make decisions for their personal care and/or finances. The court may appoint a guardian to make personal care decisions and/or a conservator to make financial decisions for the person if there is no suitable alternative or what is known as a least restrictive alternative to assist them.
The guardian/conservator will be required to regularly submit written reports to the court on the person’s personal and financial status for the duration of the guardianship and/or conservatorship.
