Probate and Estate Administration

Probate is the legal process through which a person’s assets and liabilities are addressed after they die. The entirety of a person’s assets and liabilities are called their estate. Some estates do not need to go through the probate process because of their size or due to the planning of the deceased person during their lifetime.  If probate is necessary, a court case will need to be filed and various steps taken to administer and close the estate.
